Irish Open Returns To Killeen Course

July 25, 2011

For the second consecutive year, the Killeen Course at Killarney Golf and Fishing Club will serve as host for the Irish Open, this week's stop on the European PGA Tour. Last year's return to Killeen was a major success with 25 of Europe's top 50 players in the field and a monstrous crowd of 82,000 spectators on hand, the second largest on Tour in 2010. That crowd was treated to a spectacular display of golf as England's Ross Fisher finished with a tournament record-tying 18 under 266, three strokes ahead of home country favorite, Padraig Harrington. This year, another strong field and record-breaking crowds are expected at Killeen as the Race to Dubai continues all season long on FOX Sports.
