Hole-by-hole recap of Tiger's 2nd-round match

Updated Apr. 21, 2023 8:28 a.m. ET

Miss any of Tiger's 2nd-round upset? Worry not. We have you covered with a hole-by-hole recap from the Accenture Match Play Championship. Time stamps indicate the time at which the players began the hole. All times listed are ET.

Tiger WoodsTim Clark       4 and 2

Hole No. 16, 5:35 p.m.: Tim Clark does not want this to go any further, and he just hit the shot that may do it. Clark is inside of five feet on the Par 3, and there is little Tiger can do to stop him. And once again, Tiger has left an iron out to the right, his ball kicking off the right bank of the green and down into the fairway that comes up along the right side of the hole. Tiger will need to hole that chip, and hope for a miss from Clark.

The chip comes up a foot short. And it's over. Tiger's out.

Clark wins hole. Clark wins 4 and 2

Hole No. 15, 5:16 p.m.: It's a 331-yard, driveable Par 4 and Tiger is going for it. And his shot is way right. He's in the desert. He may find fossils before he finds his ball. Clark just needs to hit the fairway. But Clark cannot. He's in the fairway trap about 60 yards from the hole. That's two missed fairways for Clark on his last two holes after being so consistent off the tee for the beginning part of the round.

Tiger's shot is out of bounds. He has to go back to the tee, where he will be hitting his 3rd shot. With this being a driveable hole, a par 4 is still possible.

Tiger absolutely pures a drive. He's pin-high, 20 feet away for par. Clark's latest recovery is another gem. He gets out of a difficult lie in the fairway trap, as the ball skips to the back fringe. Clark is probably 20 feet as well, but he will be putting for birdie.

Tiger putts first, and his putt slides by the right side. Clark has two putts to win. His birdie effort is close enough and Tiger concedes the par. We're at dormie.

Clark wins hole. Clark 3 UP
