FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (AP) Zach Johnson doesn't have to wait by the phone to find out if he's on another Ryder Cup team.

Right when it looked as though Johnson had played his way out of an automatic spot on the U.S. team, Rickie Fowler made two bogeys and a double bogey over the final four holes at The Barclays and failed to qualify.

Fowler needed a birdie on the 18th hole at Bethpage Black to make the team. He made bogey, and Johnson was in.

The Barclays was the final event that Americans could earn eight automatic spots on the team. Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Phil Mickelson, Jimmy Walker and Brooks Koepka already had clinched spots. Patrick Reed won The Barclays to earn a spot, joining Brandt Snedeker and Zach Johnson.
