ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. (AP) Canadian rookie Mackenzie Hughes shot a 5-under 67 on the Plantation course at Sea Island and built a two-shot lead going into the weekend at the RSM Classic.

Hughes got married during the only week he had off during the new season that began in October. On another perfect day for scoring at Sea Island, he hasn't dropped a shot over two rounds. He was at 14-under 128.

C.T. Pan, another PGA Tour rookie, shot a 64 on the Seaside course and was two back. Chad Campbell had a 65 at Seaside and was part of a large group three shots off the lead.

Scoring was so good the cut was at 5-under par. Among those missing the cut were Matt Kuchar, Zach Johnson and tournament host Davis Love III.
