Billy Kennerly wins Canadian Men's Amateur Championship

TORONTO (AP) Former Clemson player Billy Kennerly won the Canadian Men's Amateur Championship on Thursday, closing with a 2-under 70 at Weston Golf & Country Club for a six-stroke victory.

The 22-year-old Kennerly, from Alpharetta, Georgia, finished at 12-under 275. He earned a spot next year in the PGA Tour's Canadian Open.

Jake Shuman of Needham, Massachusetts, shot a 68 to tie for second with Canadians Garrett Rank and Hugo Bernard. Rank had a 67, and Bernard shot 69.
