Big-hitting Colsaerts impresses with short game
Nicolas Colsaerts is the biggest hitter on the European Tour, averaging nearly 317 yards with the driver this season.
However, it was his short game that helped him storm the leaderboard at the British Open on Thursday.
Holing an 8 iron for eagle at the par-4 second hole was one of the many highlights of the Belgian's opening round of 5-under 67, which left him tied for second and in his best position at a major tournament.
Colsaerts says ''I have never really holed out from fairways, so when it's this dead on to the flag you think you should be rewarded - it was just a fantastic way to start the round.''
Colsaerts took the driver - his favorite club - out of the bag only on six holes.
