Durasek wins Tour de Suisse stage, Dumoulin retains lead
RISCH-ROTKREUZ, Switzerland (AP) Kristijan Durasek of Croatia continued his career-best season by winning the Tour de Suisse stage two on Sunday, and Tom Dumoulin of the Netherlands retained the overall lead.
The 27-year-old Durasek broke clear in the final kilometer (half-mile) of a 161.1-kilometer (100.1-mile) stage to finish four seconds ahead of a group that included Dumoulin.
Daniel Moreno of Spain was second, edging Julian Arredondo of Colombia into third in a stage lasting more than 3 1/2 hours.
Geraint Thomas of Britain placed fifth and moved up to second overall, trailing Dumoulin by seven seconds.
Durasek, who won the Tour of Turkey stage race last month, is eighth overall.
Frenchman Thibaut Pinot, third in the 2014 Tour de France, stands seventh.
The nine-day Swiss race is the last major warm-up event for next month's Tour.
