Yale beats Princeton 44-30 in big Ivy victory

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) Morgan Roberts threw for a career-high 405 yards and two touchdowns, Tyler Varga scored three times and Yale beat Princeton 44-30 on Saturday to set up a showdown with Ivy League leader Harvard.

Yale (8-1, 5-1) is tied for second with Dartmouth a game behind Harvard with one week left. Dartmouth plays at Princeton (5-4, 4-2) next week.

Trailing 14-7, the Bulldogs scored 17 unanswered points, including Jaeden Graham's recovery of a punt blocked by Marty Moesta.

The second of three touchdown runs by Quinn Epperly got the Tigers within 27-21 late in the third quarter. Yale responded with Kyle Cazzetta's third field goal and Roberts' 13-yard pass to Varga for a 37-21 lead. Varga also ran for two scores, including a 6-yarder that put the Bulldogs up 44-27 in the fourth quarter.

Varga finished with 137 yards rushing. Grant Wallace had 149 yards receiving and Eon Randall another 112.
