Worry over McCarron in walking boot?

Exhale, Tuscaloosa. It's OK.

A photo surfaced Friday apparently showing Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron in a walking boot as he exited the team bus in Atlanta ahead of the Crimson Tide's Saturday game against Virginia Tech.

But two sources tell FOXSports.com college football insider Clay Travis that the boot is merely a precautionary measure. And Alabama confirmed Saturday that McCarron was still going to play.

Here's the photo, tweeted out by college football analyst Cole Cubelic:

The school also revealed the cause for the boot: McCarron has an ingrown toenail. Ouch.

Still, McCarron appeared to be in good spirits on game day:

McCarron suffered a foot bruise during the Tide's first preseason scrimmage, but there have been no indications of problems since. He practiced every day this week leading up to the game.

Alabama has frequently used walking boots in recent years as a precautionary measure, according to al.com.
