WKU turns ball over 5 times in span of 6 plays
Western Kentucky has turned the ball over five times in a span of six plays from scrimmage in the first quarter of its game with Tennessee.
Tennessee scored after each of the turnovers - including three interceptions by Brandon Doughty - to take a 31-3 lead.
The parade of turnovers started when Justin Coleman scored on a 23-yard interception return. After a 3-yard run by Keshawn Simpson on the next possession, Cameron Sutton scored on a 36-yard interception return.
On Western Kentucky's next play from scrimmage, Dontavis Sapp forced and recovered Simpson's fumble at the Western Kentucky 28, setting up Michael Palardy's 23-yard field goal.
Brent Brewer forced a fumble by Antonio Andrews and picked off a pass from Doughty on Western Kentucky's next two snaps. Tennessee scored touchdowns after both turnovers.
