Wisconsin Football: Badger's Outlook Going Forward
At 4-1 heading into the bye week, the Badgers still have a lot to play for
Its October 3rd, and the Wisconsin Badgers are ranked inside the top 15. How many of you had that going into the bye week? I’m guessing not many. Yes, a loss sucks, but if you had this team going undefeated and winning the national championship you set yourself up for disappointment. So, with a lot of football left, how significant is the Badgers loss last Saturday?

The honest truth, not very. The Wisconsin Football season is far from over, and its time to turn the page and forget the Michigan loss completely. Yes there are things to learn from it, but it really does not have that big of an impact on what this team wants to do going forward. They still have the ability to go as far as they want. In the BCS, one loss put you on the outside looking in, just hoping for help along the way.
With the playoff, things are much different. A seven point road loss to a top 5 team really does not hurt the Badgers chances. If anything, the Badgers stock still rose for many in the national landscape simply because they kept it close. So don’t abandon all hope.
The Badgers are off this weekend before taking on Ohio State at home, Iowa on the road, and Nebraska at home. The bye week could not have came at a better time. They now have the opportunity to rest, get healthy, and get things right for OSU on the 15th. If they can win those games, they will be right back in the conversation that they are just slightly out of right now. Everything this team wants to accomplish is still right there in front of them. Things may seem bleak right now Badger fans, but as Senior Rob Wheelright said, a lot of good can come from this. They’ll be back.
