Wisconsin Football: 3-star QB Ben Bryant cut loose because of Twitter post

A Wisconsin football pledge was forced to de-commit following a Twitter post about a new offer.

On Friday afternoon, a Wisconsin football pledge named Ben Bryant, a three-star quarterback, was forced to de-commit because of something he posted on social media.

Before you jump to conclusions, no, it wasn't a controversial tweet about race, religion or anything concerning politics, but rather one about a new offer. Wisconsin didn't take too kindly to the La Grange, Ill., quarterback tweeting about his Georgia offer, so they dropped him the next day.

According to The Spun, Wisconsin dropped Bryant after he posted a tweet regarding a new offer from Georgia.

Bryant told Scout.com's Benjamin Worgull that his offer was pulled because of the tweet and stated that he was very disappointed in the situation.

The whole situation seems very strange, though. Recruits are known for posting about their offers on social media and it's how they show gratitude toward the schools that extend offers. Also, it's how fans are kept in the loop about new offers.

Not many schools would go to such extremes as to force a kid to de-commit because of a post that says "Humbled to receive an offer from The University of Georgia." A harmless tweet, to say the least.

Now, if he had said something like "Blessed to receive an offer from my dream school, The University of Georgia" then there would be a problem. However, he is now forced to look at other scenarios for his college career. Heck, maybe he'll be a Bulldog, after all.

Was this a legitimate no-no for the Badgers or was this all because they received a commitment from 2018 quarterback Chase Wolf the week before? Either way, bad look for the Badgers.
