Who will Kingsbury choose at QB for Red Raiders?

Former Texas Tech quarterback Baker Mayfield is in the mix to become the starter at Oklahoma, but Texas Tech has its own quarterback battle.

Coach Kliff Kingsbury is trying to decide between Davis Webb and Patrick Mahomes as the starter for the Red Raiders.

Webb is more of a pocket-passer and has shown the ability to take a hit. He's an accurate passer and has a good, strong arm with 14 career starts. However he's not great at taking care of the ball and is interception prone.

With Mahomes, you have a guy who threw for 598 yards in a loss against Baylor last season, but he's also accident prone.

"I think if you took a poll and asked our players who should be the starter, you would get 50-50," Kingsbury said during Big 12 Media Days last week. "It's a unique spot to be in.

"I'm planning on naming a starter fairly early in camp and trying to develop that chemistry with the first and second team,"Kingsbury said.

At Oklahoma, coach Bob Stoops is deciding between Mayfield and Trevor Knight, howver, unlike at Tech, Stoops has given no indiciation he wants to make a decision early on in summer camp.
