WATCH: Elite DL offers insight into recruitment
A hallmark of any quality team is strong play up front -- particularly along the defensive line. 2016 prospect Shavar Manuel is the type of defensive line prospect programs are absolutely salivating over.
He's capable of playing virtually any position along the defensive front -- at both end and tackle. His quickness and athleticism for a player his size is impressive -- as is his innate power and ability to utilize leverage.
Manuel spoke about his recruitment at the Under Armour All-America Game practices earlier this week. LSU is the only team he's visited officially, and he also plans on visiting Florida, Florida State, and USF. There's a chance Manuel could opt to also take a trip to either Tennessee or Clemson.
Manuel's position flexibility makes him a fit in either a 3-4 or a 4-3 scheme. The Tampa native spoke about his love for the Florida schools -- in addition to his admiration for LSU head coach Les Miles. Interestingly enough, Manuel's high school teammate Saivion Smith is committed to LSU.
It will be fascinating to see ultimately where this talented prospect ends up. His recruitment appears to be completely up in the air with nearly a month until signing day.
