While spring camp may be over, the workload for QBs Luke Falk and Peyton Bender is far from light. In fact, without the Cougars coaches around for summer football, it is on Falk and Bender to lead the way.

Besides the summer weight lifting sessions, the Cougars QBs will have informal seven-on-seven passing drills. Wide receivers and defensive backs will be going one-on-one in these drills, making for an electric atmosphere of sorts. But Falk and Bender know it's on both of them to step up and lead the team over the summer.

“It’s a village of leaders and we’ve just got to take over,” Falk said, according to Jacob Thorpe of The Spokesman-Review. “No coaches are here and it will really be on us to work. This is where the locker room comes together and the leadership comes together and the team gets really tight.”
