Juan Nunez had three touchdowns and 192 yards receiving in Western Michigan's 56-10 rout of Akron on Saturday.

The Broncos (3-4, 2-1 Mid-American Conference), who totaled 519 yards of offense, scored the game's first 35 points.

Nunez scored the first two touchdowns on passes of 26 and 59 yards from Alex Carder. Western Michigan's Travonte Boles then had a 1-yard interception return for a touchdown and Carder had a 34-yard TD pass to Jordan White for a 28-0 lead midway through the second quarter.

Carder finished with five touchdowns and 372 yards on 17-for-24 passing. White had eight catches for 168 yards and two touchdowns.

The Zips (0-8, 0-4) scored on a 40-yard field goal by Igor Iveljic and a 57-yard fumble recovery by Brian Wagner 12 seconds into the fourth quarter.

Nate Burney had 91 yards on 16 carries for Akron.
