Vandy QB Robinette medically cleared for Missouri
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Vanderbilt quarterback Patton Robinette has been cleared medically from a concussion he suffered Sept. 20, and he will be in uniform Saturday when the Commodores visit Missouri.
The Commodores announced Robinette had been cleared Friday. Redshirt freshman Johnny McCrary still is set for his first career start, becoming the fourth different starting quarterback this season for Vanderbilt (2-5, 0-4).
Robinette was hurt Sept. 20 at the end of the first quarter when he had helped the Commodores take a 14-0 lead before leaving with a concussion. Vanderbilt wound up losing 48-34. Robinette is 23 of 32 for 240 yards and two touchdowns and has run for another score.
Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason said Tuesday that he was excited about what his team will look like when Robinette comes back.
