BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) Virginia Tech has hired Stacy Searels to be its offensive line coach.

Hokies coach Frank Beamer announced the move Friday.

Searels was with Texas the last three seasons, working for Mack Brown. He replaces Jeff Grimes at Virginia Tech. Grimes left the Hokies for LSU earlier this month.

Searels has also worked at Georgia (2007-10) and LSU (2003-06). He was a star offensive lineman for Auburn in the mid-1980s, helping open holes for Bo Jackson with the Tigers.
