UTM take 17-7 victory over Southeast Missouri
Dylan Favre passed for one touchdown and Najee Ray rushed for another as Tennessee-Martin scored all its points in the first half in taking a 17-7 victory over Southeast Missouri in an Ohio Valley Conference opener Saturday night.
The Skyhawks (3-1, 1-0) did most of their damage on the ground, gaining 238 yards with DJ McNeil collecting a career-high 148 on 27 carries.
Favre hit Corey Jordan for a 35-yard score in the first quarter. Ray's 9-yard scoring run gave the Skyhawks a 14-0 lead in the second quarter. Jackson Redditt added a 22-yard field goal with 2:48 left in the half.
The Redhawks' only score came with 6:17 remaining in the game on Ron Coleman's 2-yard run.
The Redhawks (0-4, 0-1) have lost seven consecutive games dating back to last season.
Favre, the nephew of former NFL quarterback Brett Favre, completed 11 of 16 passes for 118 yards.
