USC receiver Joseph Lewis charged in domestic violence case
LOS ANGELES (AP) Southern California wide receiver Joseph Lewis IV has pleaded not guilty in Los Angeles to five misdemeanors stemming from two alleged domestic violence attacks last month.
City News Service reports the 18-year-old was arraigned Tuesday on charges including domestic battery for the alleged assaults on the same person Feb. 5 and Feb. 11.
Lewis was freed on his own recognizance but ordered to stay away from the alleged victim. A pretrial hearing is set for March 27.
The Trojans released the team's spring practice roster Monday and Lewis was not on it. He was suspended from all team activities following his arrest.
Lewis caught four passes for 39 yards in 11 games as a freshman in 2017.
