USC has numbers at wide receiver but production is another story
USC didn't just take a big hit with the departure of Leonard Williams to the NFL. The Trojans also are reeling after losing five of their top seven receivers from last season.
Nevertheless, USC has immense talent across the board with Adoree' Jackson, Steven Mitchell and Justin Davis. The Trojans also have talent coming in by way of junior college transfers, such as Isaac Whitney.
But depth alone won't do USC any good if it can't fill a gaping hole as far as production goes.
Reign of Troy's Alicia de Artola breaks it down.
"Consider this: The contributions of Adoree' Jackson, Justin Davis and Steven Mitchell, USC's eight, ninth and tenth leading receivers, do not even match the yardage achieved by George Farmer in 2014," de Artola writes. "Yes there should be increased depth with the likes of Isaac Whitney and De'Quan Hampton joining the team, but that depth is mostly populated by unproven commodities."
In other words, it's time to see if the hype surrounding their young talent can put up some serious numbers.
