USC freshman WR Deontay Burnett led Trojans in receiving yards vs. Cal

Freshman wide receiver Deontay Burnett received extra playing time vs. Cal, as USC's receivers were banged up and injured.
Burnett has played in six games for USC this season, adding seven catches for 145 yards. He was one of the last recruits to commit to the Trojans over the offseason, accepting a "blueshirt" offer because USC had already used all of their scholarship offers. He was previously committed to Washington State.
āI felt like [I was a bigger part of the game plan] because at practice I was getting a lot of good plays and when it came to the game I just executed,ā said Burnett, via Scout.com.Ā
OC Register reports Burnett "did extra work" with quarterback Cody Kessler after practice on Tuesday. He led USC with 82 receiving yards vs. Cal.
