Urban Meyer address rumors, insists he's not leaving Ohio State for NFL
It’s not a secret that Urban Meyer hasn’t stuck around for long at any of his previous coaching stops. His longest tenure was six seasons with the Florida Gators. As Year 4 concludes with the Ohio State Buckeyes, a report surfaced from one website that the NFL’s Cleveland Browns were ready to offer Meyer the head-coaching position with a package that was so lucrative, it reportedly included an ownership stake in the team.
Saturday, Meyer responded to those reports and made it clear that he intends to stay with the Buckeyes for the long term.
Meyer has a 49-4 record with a Big Ten championship and a national title during his time in Columbus with a team that, if things play out in its favor, could end up in the College Football Playoff for a second straight season.
