North Carolina has lost leading rusher Johnny White for the season with a broken collarbone. The senior was hurt in the first half of the weekend win at Florida State.

White earned a leading role in the offense when tailbacks Shaun Draughn and Ryan Houston were held out of the opener against LSU due to the ongoing NCAA investigation. White ran for 720 yards to go with a team-best seven touchdowns this season. He also was the team's third-leading receiver with 24 catches for 288 yards.

The Tar Heels (6-3) host No. 16 Virginia Tech on Saturday.
