UNC LB Tyrell Tomlin ruled academically ineligible

A rebuilding North Carolina defense suffered a blow on Tuesday as it was announced that former four-star linebacker Tyrell Tomlin was ruled academically ineligible for the 2015 season.

According to a school press release, the 6-0, 235-pound OLB is no longer enrolled at UNC.

In 2014, Tomlin recorded four tackles as a freshman and was expected to compete for more playing time this season.
