Former Boise State defensive end Sam Ukwuachu remains away from the Baylor team as he prepares to face trial on alleged sexual assault charges against a former Baylor student in 2013. The Houston Chronicle has more.

"Waco attorney Jonathan Sibley, who is representing Ukwuachu, told the newspaper that his client hasn’t been able to playfor the Bears because of the indictment. He hopes to regain his eligibility with the team if he is found innocent. His trial begins Aug. 17.

Ukwuachu sat out the 2013 season after transferring from Boise State and was ineligible to play last year.
