UCLA agrees to 15-year deal with Under Armour

NEW YORK (AP) UCLA and Under Armour have agreed to a long-term athletic shoe and apparel deal that a person with direct knowledge of the contract told The Associated Press will pay the school $280 million over 15 years.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the terms of the contract were not being made public yet.

ESPN first reported the deal.

Under Armour posted an announcement on Twitter welcoming UCLA to the Baltimore-based company.

The deal goes into effect July 2017. UCLA has an agreement with Adidas that runs through this year.

Over the last year, Under Armour has signed Notre Dame to a $90 million deal, lured Wisconsin away from Adidas and extended its agreements with Auburn and South Carolina.
