Two Georgia freshmen arrested; suspended for Kentucky game

Considering the heat their coach is currently under, now is not a great time for Georgia's players to be in the headlines for the wrong reasons. But that's exactly what happened Wednesday morning as freshmen Natrez Patrick and Chauncy Rivers were arrested by UGA campus police.

Both players face accusations of misdemeanor charges of marijuana possession after the school's police department discovered smoke coming from inside a parked vehicle.

“They made a very poor decision and I’m extremely disappointed,” Georgia head coach Mark Richt said Wednesday. “They will be disciplined in an appropriate manner and hopefully have learned a valuable life lesson that will benefit them moving forward.”

Part of that discipline includes missing out on an opportunity to play against Kentucky on Saturday. The length of their suspensions has not been specified at this time. Both players participated in practice Wednesday with the rest of the team.
