Towson holds off Elon 21-19

TOWSON, Md. (AP) Darius Victor piled up 153 yards and a touchdown to lead Towson to a 21-19 win over Elon on Saturday.

Towson (4-5, 2-3 Colonial Athletic Association) had to hang on for the win after its 21-6 advantage evaporated in the second half as Elon scored 13 unanswered points. The Tigers secured an onside kick with 1:07 to go and ran out the clock.

Connor Frazier was 17 of 24 for 187 yards, including two touchdown throws to Andre Dessenberg, and an interception. Victor had 28 carries, including a TD punched in from the 3. Towson outgained Elon (1-8, 0-5) in total yardage, 388 to 276.

Mike Quinn had 184 yards on 25-for-43 passing, including a 5-yard touchdown toss to Andre Davis and another to Kierre Brown. John Gallagher kicked 25- and 49-yard field goals for the Phoenix, who are playing their first season in CAA.
