Austin Dantin threw for 229 yards and ran for 72 more as he led Toledo on a second-half surge to beat Kent State 34-21 in Mid-American Conference play Saturday night.

Despite trailing 21-7 at halftime, the Rockets (4-3, 3-0) came back to outscore the Golden Flashes 27-0 in the second half.

Jacquise Terry ran for three touchdowns in the first half to build the lead for Kent State (2-4, 1-2), while Dantin completed a 22-yard touchdown pass to Adonis Thomas for Toledo's only first-half score.

The Rockets scored on an 11-yard touchdown run by Bernard Reedy and a 22-yard run by Thomas to tie things up, 21-21, with 6:24 remaining in the third quarter.

Bill Claus kicked a 38-yard field goal to give Toledo its first lead of the game with 49 seconds left in the third. Claus added a 32-yarder in the fourth quarter.

Dantin scored on a 6-yard touchdown run for the game's final score.
