Temple beats East Carolina 37-10 for its 6th straight win

PHILADELPHIA (AP) Jahad Thomas ran for 152 yards and two touchdowns as Temple beat East Carolina 37-10 on Saturday night to clinch its second straight East Division title and berth in the American Athletic Conference championship.

The Owls (9-3, 7-1) have won six straight and will face Navy (9-2, 7-1), which has a four-game winning streak, in the conference championship next Saturday.

Thomas ran for two 3-yard touchdowns. Ryquell Armstead added two scores from inside the 2-yard line for Temple, which also heads to a program-record second straight bowl game. Adonis Jennings had six catches for 100 yards.

Jager Gardner had a 14-yard touchdown run for Temple late in the fourth quarter.

Gardner Minshew threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Jimmy Williams in the first quarter for East Carolina (3-9, 1-7). It was the first score against the Owls in their last 10 quarters.
