TCU's Perry headed to Kansas to become new Jayhawks co-DC

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 10:12 p.m. ET

TCU's Kenny Perry is joining David Beaty's new staff at Kansas as the Jayhawks' new co-defensive coordinator and corners coach, a source told FOX Sports Wednesday.

Like Beaty, Perry is a long-time former Texas high school coach. The hire should especially help the Jayhawks in recruiting the state of Texas.

Perry spent two years on Gary Patterson's staff with the Horned Frogs. This season as TCU's cornerbacks coach, Perry, a former CB at the University of Houston, helped groom senior Kevin White into second-team All-Big 12 player.

Perry was named the 2007 Dallas Morning News Coach of the Year while at Bowie High School (Arlington).
