Taiwan Deal making push for playing time at RB
Toughness is very important to new Badgers running backs coach John Settle and he admits that he had questions about about Taiwan Deal's toughness when he first joined the staff.
Now that those questions have been put to rest by Deal playing though a quad injury during spring practice and not missing any reps. Settle says the gap has closed significantly between Deal and junior Dare Ogunbowale for the backup spot behind Corey Clement according to Madison.com:
“That gap has closed dramatically,” Settle said. “In spring ball, that’s probably the one true competition. I like to create competition at the running back position, and those two guys, they’re battling back and forth. Taiwan has gotten so much better in practice.”
It still remains to be seen who will end up being the number two in the Badgers' traditional one-two punch they like to have at running back.
