Stout defense boosts SC State over Delaware St. 30-3

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) Darius Leonard and Dayshawn Taylor led a stout South Carolina State defense in a 30-3 victory over Delaware State on Saturday for the Bulldogs' third straight win.

The Bulldogs (3-3, 3-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic) gave up only 151 yards offense with Leonard and Taylor accounting for 11 and 10 tackles, respectively.

South Carolina State was up 27-0 before the Hornets (0-7, 0-4) picked up their only points on a field goal with 14 seconds left in the first half.

Dewann Ford threw to fellow quarterback Adrian Kollock Jr. for a 14-yard score in the first quarter. Dondre Brown ran 3 yards for a TD and Caleb York threw 41 yards to De'Montrez Burroughs for another in the second quarter. Tyler Scandrett kicked three field goals, including a career-long 46-yarder.

South Carolina State's Bishop Ford ran for 106 yards on 27 carries, his second 100-yard game this season.
