Brady Attaway threw three touchdown passes as Stephen F. Austin defeated rival Northwestern State 34-17 on Saturday afternoon in the season finale for both teams.

Attaway was 37 of 55 for 326 yards. His touchdown passes found three different receivers, Aaron Thomas, Kris Lott and Cordell Roberson.

The score was tied at 10 at halftime, and at 17 at the end of the third quarter. The Demons (4-7, 2-5, Southland) were unable to score in the fourth. But the Lumberjacks had more success. Gus Johnson made an 8-yard touchdown run. Roberson caught a 38-yard touchdown pass from Attaway, and Jordan Wiggs added a field goal.

Brad Henderson was 13 of 29 for 168 yards, including a 52-yard touchdown pass to Rod Davis and a 16-yard one to Clifton Brown.

This is the first time in the past four years that the Lumberjacks (5-6, 4-3) will not have a winning season.
