Jeremy Moses threw for 356 yards and a touchdown and Stephen F. Austin held on to defeat Northern Iowa 22-20 on Saturday.

Moses found Kris Lott for a 13-yard score in the first quarter and Travis Walker and Romonte Harris each scored on 1-yard runs for Stephen F. Austin (2-1). The Lumberjacks also sacked Tirrell Rennie for a safety in the first quarter which turned out to be the scoring difference.

There was no scoring in the second half.

The Lumberjacks survived three big scoring plays by Northern Iowa (1-1). Rennie ran 75 yards for a touchdown on the game's first play from scrimmage. He later connected with Jarred Henning on an 83-yard scoring play, and Carlos Anderson returned a kickoff 99 yards for another TD.

The Panthers twice were inside the Stephen F. Austin 20-yard line in the fourth quarter, but fumbled the ball away both times.
