STANFORD, Calif. (AP) Stanford receiver Michael Rector will remain in school for his final season of eligibility instead of entering the NFL draft.

He said Saturday that after considerable thought he decided to stay for a fifth year and he looks forward to more success with the Cardinal. Stanford won the Rose Bowl and was ranked No. 3, its highest final ranking since it was No. 2 in 1940.

Rector had 34 catches for 559 yards and seven touchdowns this season. He has 72 career catches for 1,314 yards and 12 TDs in three seasons at Stanford.
