Spurrier on his game early, kicks off day two of SEC Media Days
The Ole Ball Coach returned to SEC Media Days 25 years after his first appearance at the league's annual preseason event and of course it didn't take long for Steve Spurrier to fire a couple of zingers.
Spurrier makes a good point, as many people believe Tennessee and Arkansas are on their way to competing for SEC titles but Carolina has been a factor for their division title much more recently. Had the Gamecocks held on to a couple big leads last season they very well could have won the East.
Spurrier was asked several times about his future and how close he came to walking away from college football. He had a great response ready for that one:
Spurrier went on the offensive after so many questions regarding his future, as he mentioned several of his competitors could jump to the NFL at any time.
When asked about his quarterback competition, Spurrier made some interesting comments, as we've seen in the past, he's clearly not afraid of playing two quarterbacks.
The Gamecock coach also made Carolina's policy on violence against women very clear
It's a shame not every coach can be as entertaining as Spurrier, the highlight of SEC Media Days may be over by early Tuesday morning. Hopefully Spurrier decides to stick around for several more years, the league just wouldn't be the same without him.
