Southeastern Louisiana runs past Houston Baptist 22-7

HOUSTON (AP) Kody Sutton rushed for 156 yards on 23 carries and D'Shaie Landor passed for 167 yards and one score as Southeastern Louisiana ran past Houston Baptist 22-7 on Saturday.

Southeastern Louisiana (4-3, 3-2 Southland Conference), which totaled 455 yards (288 rushing) while limiting the Huskies to 199 total yards, was ahead 22-0 with 9:24 left in the game. Houston Baptist's Terrance Peters broke for a 77-yard touchdown run to close to 22-7 with 8:38 left.

Peters led Houston Baptist (2-6, 0-5), rushing for 139 yards on 16 carries. The Lions stopped the Houston Baptist passing attack, limiting the Huskies to just 29 yards on 5 of 15 attempts. Max Staver had thrown for 843 yards in the seven previous games.

The Lions, who had lost two straight conference games before this win, had not lost two in a row since the 2012 season.
