Southeastern Louisiana beats Southern Utah 41-14

HAMMOND, La. (AP) Drew Misita had a 10-yard interception return for a touchdown on the first play of the game, Bryan Bennett threw two touchdown passes and ran for another and Southeastern Louisiana beat Southern Utah 41-14 on Saturday night.

Bennett threw a 38-yard touchdown pass to Devante Scott and a 33-yard strike to Chris Malott. His 1-yard touchdown run capped a 17-play, 83-yard drive to give the Lions a 27-14 lead with 10:29 to play.

Bennett did throw one interception which led to a 1-yard touchdown run by Raysean Pringle, pulling Southern Utah within 20-14 late in the third quarter. Bennett was 13 of 25 for 224 yards and had 18 carries for 70 yards. He has accounted for six touchdowns in two games for Southeastern Louisiana (2-0).

Aaron Cantu was 21 of 33 for 224 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions to lead Southern Utah (0-2).
