John Franklin III, a former FSU QB, will transfer to East Miss. CC, a source told FOX Sports Wednesday morning. The speedy 6-0, 185-pound redshirt sophomore from South Florida will play for new EMCC QB coach Clint Trickett, a former Nole quarterback who later was the starter for West Virginia.

Franklin, a former All-ACC track and field performer as a sprinter, had received plenty of credit within the FSU program for his work on the scout team, helping the Seminoles prepare for dynamic quarterbacks such Auburn's Nick Marshall and Oregon's Marcus Mariota during the last two seasons. He is also an outstanding student-athlete who had offers from both Air Force and Navy coming out of high school.
