Sooner receivers: Who is going to catch the ball?
We know Sterling Shepard is a capable receiver.
Past that, we don't really know who is going to catch the ball for the Sooners in 2015.
And in the new Air-Raid offense, with new offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley, finding out who is going to catch the ball other than Shepard seems pretty important.
Shepard had 51 catches last season, a team-high, but he was hurt for a good portion of the season and when he was hurt, there was no clear No. 1 receiver to step up in his place.
Senior Durron Neal seems to be a candidate. He had 42 catches last season, but there's no real definitive group of pass catchers.
John Humprey is a four-star recruit and Dahu Green from Oklahoma City are the freshman who most likely will see time. Junior college transfer Jarvis Baxter had 1,200 yards and 18 touchdowns last season at Trinity Valley (Texas) Community College. Jeffrey Mead (6-foot-6) and Dallis Todd (6-5) are impressive looking, but Mead had no catches last season as a freshman and Todd is a redshirt freshman.
K.J. Young (19 catches in 2014), Michiah Quick (25 catches) and Jordan Smallwood (three catches) should see time, too.
No one knows who the starting quarterback will be either, so finding a capable receiver beyond Sterling Shepard is only part of the problem.
