Sarkisian: 'I think we can really speed things up'
The USC Trojans came out hot during their season debut, but head coach Steve Sarkisian knows there is room to improve.
No. 8 USC won 55-6 vs. Arkansas State, but compared to last year's opener, there was plenty of room to pick up the pace. USC ran just 64 plays in their 2015 opener, whereas against Fresno State in their 2014 opener last season, USC ran 105 plays.
"I think we can really speed things up, get more snaps and that will help us down the road," said Sarkisian, according to a report in the LA Times. "All in all, I think the young guys went out and performed and did what they're capable of doing."
It will be interesting to watch how many plays USC will run against another Sun Belt foe vs. an easy Idaho opponent this weekend.
