San Diego surges past Morehead State 49-28

SAN DIEGO (AP) Keith Williams threw four touchdown passes and Jonah Hodges rushed for 160 yards with two scores, leading San Diego past Morehead State 49-28 on Saturday.

Williams threw touchdowns to Ross Dwelley, Reggie Bell and Brandon White to move the Toreros (8-1, 6-1 Pioneer) into a 28-7 halftime lead.

Morehead State (3-7, 2-5) pulled within 14 twice in the third quarter, but San Diego answered - first with a 41-yard touchdown by Hodges and then Williams' 18-yard score to White. Hodges' second touchdown made it 49-21 with 13:35 remaining.

Williams was 15 of 25 for 217 yards with an interception. Bell had five receptions for 107 yards and Dallas Kessman added 89 yards rushing with a touchdown.

Austin Gahafer had 215 yards passing with two touchdowns, one interception and a rushing score. He also caught a 27-yard touchdown from receiver Brandon Bornhauser to make it 35-21 before San Diego pulled away.
