S Utah rallies to beat Sacramento St 24-21 in OT

Colton Cook kicked a 38-yard field goal in overtime to complete a late rally for Southern Utah as they prevailed over Sacramento State 24-21 in a Big Sky non-conference matchup Saturday night.

Trailing by eight late in the game, the Thunderbirds (3-1) drove 98 yards on nine plays, with Raysean Martin punching in from the 1 with 31 seconds remaining. Aaron Cantu's two-point conversion pass was tipped and caught by a diving Griff McNabb to send the game into overtime.

The Hornets (1-3) had the first possession in overtime, but missed a 45-yard field goal attempt.

Martin rushed 26 times for 131 yards and three touchdowns and Fatu Moala finished with 127 yards on 11 receptions.

Officially, the game was a non-conference matchup between Big Sky members. The contest was scheduled before Southern Utah joined the Big Sky Conference for the 2011-12 season.
