Rutgers names Mitch Browning Offensive line coach
Rutgers has named Mitch Browning as its new offensive line coach.
Coach Kyle Flood announced the appointment Wednesday, 10 days before the Scarlet Knights face Notre Dame in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium.
Browning takes over Damian Wroblewski, who was fired with defensive coordinator Dave Cohen and quarterbacks coach Rob Spence on Dec. 8, the day after the Scarlet Knights (6-6) beat South Florida to become bowl eligible.
Browning has been coaching for more than 30 years and is a proven Big Ten recruiter. He spent this past season as assistant head coach at Davidson, coaching the offensive line and tight ends.
He has also coached as Ashland, Akron, Syracuse, Tennessee, Minnesota, Kansas, Kent State, Ohio State. North Carolina State and Miami, Ohio.
