Richt quells the rumors, backs his defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt
Thursday was a wild afternoon for Georgia, as rumors swirled that a possible midseason coaching change would be taking place. Alleged internal issues between head coach Mark Richt and defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt had appeared to come to a head, seemingly out of nowhere, and Twitter reacted accordingly.
First Pruitt sent out this tweet, which was quickly deleted:

Former Georgia All-American defensive end and current ESPN analyst David Pollack then chimed in with this tweet:
Followed by a local radio station reporting an alleged physical altercation between Bulldog coaches via Twitter. For unknown reasons, those tweets have since been deleted by the station.
Finally cooler heads prevailed and Richt put the word out that the team is preparing for Kentucky and that Pruitt's job was indeed intact:
Just another day at the office for a SEC coach on the hot seat. Unfortunately this comes with the territory, just ask Kevin Sumlin last week, Hugh Freeze the week before, Butch Jones before that with Bret Bielema the first coach to feel the heat.
With a month left in the season, who will be next coach with his feet dangling above the coals? Unless Auburn pulls the upset this weekend against Texas A&M, it may be time for Gus Malzhan to come on down.
