Rice blows by North Texas, 38-24

DENTON, Texas (AP) Driphus Jackson completed 29 of 39 passes for 373 yards and three touchdowns and Dennis Parks caught eight passes for 163 yards and two TD's to help lead Rice to a 38-24 win over North Texas on Saturday.

Jowan Davis finished with 102 yards rushing and Samuel Stewart added 48 yards with a touchdown.

Rice (2-1, 1-0 Conference USA) trailed 3-0 after one quarter but scored 38 of the game's next 45 points to take a commanding 38-10 lead late in the third quarter.

North Texas made late push in the fourth, scoring on an A.J. Ezzard 5-yard run and a 93-yard pass from Andrew McNulty to Carlos Harris.

McNulty finished with 303 yards and two touchdowns through the air and Harris had 193 yards and a pair of TD's receiving to lead North Texas (0-2, 0-1 Conference USA).

The teams combined for 1,040 yards of offense.
