Reports: Mississippi State trying to pry Ed Orgeron away from LSU
According to reports from The Advocate and FootballScoop, Mississippi State is attempting to hire LSU defensive line guru Ed Orgeron as its defensive coordinator.
The LSU brass is currently in contract extension talks with Orgeron, but it's unknown as to whether he will ultimately stick in Baton Rouge.
MSU head coach Dan Mullen did interview Orgeron last season -- offering him a job. Orgeron ultimately turned the opportunity down in favor of returning to his home state.

There's no question Mullen is attempting to garner some stability at the defensive coordinator position -- while also enhancing prospects on the defensive side of the ball. Both of MSU's defensive coordinators the past two seasons (Geoff Collins, Manny Diaz) left Starkville for more attractive destinations (Florida, Miami).
Should the Bulldogs bring Orgeron into the fold, one would expect an uptick from a recruiting standpoint.
