Report: Status of five-star Tennessee WR in doubt

Published Jul. 31, 2015 9:54 p.m. ET

The black cloud hanging over the Tennessee football program just won't seem to go away with the latest piece of bad news featuring a reported flagged ACT test score for 2015 five-star recruit Preston Williams.

The receiver's latest ACT score jumped significantly, causing the results to be called into question by the NCAA.

Williams must re-take the exam, and achieve a passing score, before being eligible for fall camp. With camp beginning Aug. 4, the likelihood of that happening before the start of practice appears slim, as no test has currently been scheduled, according to 247Sports.

A native of Lovejoy, Ga., was rated as the third best receiver and the 29th-overall best player in the nation for 2015.
